I'm pretty sure this is our fifth year gardening (yes I've lost track) but this is our first year planting fall crops. I think it was a combination of ignorance, intimidation and pure laziness that kept us from exploring these fall crops. Personally, after tomatoes, I was usually just ready to clean up shop and couldn't imagine that there would be any other worthy vegetable of my time and effort. Tomatoes can take a lot of work at the end of the day so maybe instead of ignorance it was just laziness on my part...yep, laziness, that's probably it.
Either way, the taste of an early spring harvest this year put us in gear for cool weather crops so with all veggies firmly planted in their respective beds, we're ready for some fall vegetables.
What did we plant?
We also have some pretty little carrots, red spring onions, carrots, garlic & new green been bush plants popping up. The garden beds are packed to the brim! And and lest we forget the fall crops that were previously planted this spring...
I'm seeing hefty salads, simmering soups & roasted veggies in our future meals this Fall!
Any other Fall garden growers out there? Any vegetables we missed out on planning this year that you'd recommend? If so, comment below!
